Use it

Ask Claude for the job it does, in your own words. Talk to Alpaca from Claude Code: account, positions, orders (list, place, cancel), latest quote, and historical bars to CSV, using Node's built-in fetch. Paper trading by default. Live orders need ALPACA_LIVE=1 plus your yes in chat for each order. Not financial advice.

Set up its keys

This kit reads 3 keys from your environment. Set these in your shell profile or your agent's env settings. Never paste a value into a kit or a chat.

ALPACA_API_KEY_ID
Your Alpaca API key ID. Make paper keys on the Alpaca dashboard home page.
Get it from Alpaca
ALPACA_API_SECRET_KEY
The secret that goes with your Alpaca key ID. Alpaca shows it once, when you make the key.

ALPACA_LIVE
Leave unset to trade on paper. Set to 1 only when you mean to place real orders.
