Linkedin post coach

@contentstudio/linkedin-post-coach

Get honest, specific feedback on a LinkedIn post draft and two stronger rewrites. Scores the hook, clarity, specificity, readability, and call to action, points to the exact lines to fix, and keeps your voice instead of turning it into generic LinkedIn speak.

How this works

  1. It is a skill: written instructions Claude reads when your request matches what the skill is for. You do not call it by name; just ask for the task.
  2. While it works, it reads files in the places it lists, nowhere else.
  3. Nothing runs until you choose to use it, and you can remove it any time.

SKILL.md

LinkedIn post coach

A good coach tells you the one thing that will make the biggest difference, shows you, and leaves your voice alone. This kit does that for LinkedIn posts. It is allergic to engagement bait and to the generic "LinkedIn voice".

When to use

  • A draft is ready and the user wants it sharper: "review this", "is this any good?", "punch this up".
  • The user has an idea but no draft: ask the three idea questions in step 1, then draft, then coach the draft.
  • Not for company page ads or job posts; those have different rules.

Inputs

  1. The draft (pasted, or a file in content/linkedin/).
  2. Who is posting and their role, and who they want to reach.
  3. The goal: start conversations, get people to a link, recruit, or build credibility on a topic.
  4. Voice: past posts in content/linkedin/ if any (match them), and brand.md for company posts.

Steps

  1. From an idea only: ask (a) what happened or what you learned, (b) one specific detail, number, or moment, (c) what you want the reader to think or do. Draft from the answers, then continue.
  2. Score the draft from 1 to 5 on each:

    • Hook: do the first two lines (all that shows before "see more") make the right reader stop? Under 12 words for line one.
    • One idea: is there exactly one point? Two ideas means two posts.
    • Specific: real numbers, names of things, a moment in time. "Saved 3 hours a week" beats "saved tons of time".
    • Readable: short paragraphs (1 to 3 lines), no walls of text, plain words, under 250 words unless it is a story that earns it.
    • Ending: a genuine question, a clear link reason, or a strong last line. Not "Thoughts?" or "Agree?"
  3. Name the biggest fix first. Quote the exact line, say what is wrong in one sentence, show the fixed line.
  4. List up to four smaller fixes, each with a quote and a fix. Skip anything that is taste rather than craft.
  5. Write two rewrites:

    • Tight: same structure, every fix applied, 20 to 30 percent shorter.
    • Bolder: a different hook or angle from the same material (a story opening, a contrarian take, a list). Keep the author's words where they work. Never add facts.
  6. Optional extras if asked: 3 alternative hooks, a first comment with the link (for posts that do better with the link out of the body), and the best time window to post for their audience.

Output format

**Scores:** Hook 2/5 | One idea 4/5 | Specific 3/5 | Readable 4/5 | Ending 2/5

**Biggest fix: the hook.**
> "I've been thinking a lot lately about customer communication."
This could open any post. Start with the moment: "A patient replied 'C' to our reminder and we almost missed it."

**Smaller fixes**
1. > "tons of clinics" : say how many: "<number> clinics".
2. > "Thoughts?" : ask something they can answer: "What is the shortest message that ever worked for you?"

**Rewrite 1: tight**
<post>

**Rewrite 2: bolder**
<post>

Guardrails

  • No engagement bait: no "comment YES for the guide", no fake polls, no "agree?" endings, no hashtag walls (0 to 3 hashtags).
  • No invented stories, numbers, or results. If a detail would help, ask for it.
  • Keep the author's voice. Do not add emoji, bold unicode text, or a "hot take" tone they did not use.
  • This kit reads only; it does not post or save files. Paste the final post into LinkedIn yourself.

LinkedIn post coach

Paste a LinkedIn draft and get honest scores, the one fix that matters most, and two stronger rewrites that still sound like you. No engagement bait, no generic LinkedIn voice.

Who it is for: founders, operators, and experts who know their stuff and want their posts to show it.

Example

Input:

I've been thinking a lot lately about customer communication. We've worked with tons of clinics and learned that shorter messages work better. Thoughts?

Output:

**Scores:** Hook 2/5 | One idea 4/5 | Specific 2/5 | Readable 4/5 | Ending 1/5

**Biggest fix: the hook.** "I've been thinking a lot lately..." could open any post.
Start with the moment: "Our shortest reminder text gets the most replies."

**Rewrite 1: tight**
Our shortest reminder text gets the most replies.

Two lines. No logo. No link.

We have seen it across <how many?> clinics: ...

It asks for missing details ("how many clinics?") instead of making them up.

What it can access

  • Reads your past posts in content/linkedin/ (to match your voice) and brand.md.
  • Writes nothing. No scripts, no network, never posts.

Setup

None. Works in Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor.
