Repurpose long form
@contentstudio/repurpose-long-form
Turn one long piece (a blog post, talk, podcast or webinar transcript, or report) into a week of channel-ready content: a LinkedIn post, an X thread, a newsletter section, a short video script, pull quotes, and a carousel outline. Every piece keeps the facts and the voice of the original.

How this works
- It is a skill: written instructions Claude reads when your request matches what the skill is for. You do not call it by name; just ask for the task.
- While it works, it reads and changes files in the places it lists, nowhere else.
- Nothing runs until you choose to use it, and you can remove it any time.
SKILL.md
Repurpose long-form
One good long piece holds a week of content. This kit finds the strongest ideas in it and rewrites each for the channel it is going to, instead of pasting the same summary everywhere.
When to use
- Right after publishing a blog post, giving a talk, or recording a webinar or podcast.
- "Turn this into LinkedIn posts", "make a thread from this", "what can we post from this transcript?"
- For planning when the pieces go out, hand off to
content-calendar.
Inputs
- The source: a file in
content/, a pasted article, or a transcript. Transcripts: ignore filler, small talk, and housekeeping. - Channels wanted. Default set: LinkedIn post, X thread, newsletter section, 60-second video script, 5 pull quotes, carousel outline. Ask only if the user has said they do not use one of these.
- Who is posting: the company page or a person. Personal posts use "I" and a lived moment; company posts use "we".
- Link to the original, if published, for the call to action.
- Voice: follow
brand.mdif it exists.
Steps
- Read the whole source and list its 3 to 7 strongest ideas: a surprising number, a strong opinion, a story with a turn, a how-to with steps, a quote that stands alone. Rank them. Show the list and which piece each will feed.
- One idea per piece. Never compress the whole source into every format. The LinkedIn post and the thread should lead with different ideas.
Write each piece for its channel:
- LinkedIn post: first line under 12 words that makes someone stop, short paragraphs, one idea, 150 to 250 words, end with a question or the link. No hashtag walls (0 to 3).
- X or Threads thread: 5 to 8 posts, the first one stands alone, one point per post, the last one links to the original.
- Newsletter section: a headline, 80 to 150 words, one takeaway, a "read the full piece" link.
- 60-second video script: hook in the first 3 seconds, about 150 spoken words, on-screen text cues in brackets. For longer scripts, use
video-script-writer. - Pull quotes: 5 lines under 20 words, exact wording from the source, with the speaker if it is a transcript.
- Carousel outline: 6 to 8 slides, one line each, slide 1 a promise, last slide a call to action.
- Check facts against the source. Every number, name, and claim must appear in the original. Quotes are verbatim.
- Write
content/repurposed/<source-slug>.mdin the format below and show the ranked idea list plus the LinkedIn post in chat.

- Never add facts, numbers, customers, or quotes that are not in the source.
- Keep quotes word for word. Paraphrases are not quotes; do not put them in quote marks.
- Do not post or schedule anything.
- If the source is someone else's work, say so and repurpose only with credit and a link, or ask whether the user has the rights.
README.md
Repurpose long-form
Give it one long piece, like a blog post, a talk, or a webinar transcript, and get a week of content back: a LinkedIn post, a thread, a newsletter section, a short video script, pull quotes, and a carousel outline. Each piece leads with a different idea, so it never feels like the same summary five times.
Who it is for: anyone who spends a day on a great article and then posts one link to it.
Example
Input: a 1,800-word blog post, "What we learned sending 2 million appointment reminders".
Output (content/repurposed/2-million-reminders.md), starting with the ranked ideas:
- Two-line reminders beat long ones (used in the LinkedIn post)
- The 3-touch reminder schedule (used in the thread and carousel)
- "Patients do not ignore reminders, they ignore paragraphs" (pull quote)
LinkedIn post opening:
Our shortest reminder text gets the most replies. Two lines. No logo. No link.
Every number and quote is checked against the original.
What it can access
- Reads your drafts in
content/andbrand.mdfor voice. - Writes only inside
content/repurposed/. - No scripts, no network.
Setup
None. Works in Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor.
